What’s new in Las Vegas?

January 7th, 2007 by André Nogueira

Here is a list of what Microsoft is being unveiled at the CES keynote:

  • Office 2007 demo
  • Integration between Office 2007 and Live Maps
  • Navigation in Live Maps 3D using an Xbox 360 controller
  • Windows Shadow Copy – “Better than going back in time!”
  • DreamScene (Ultimate only) – use a video as your background picture!
  • Groupshot (Ultimate only?)- You took two pictures but in each one person had her eyes closed? Merge them together to create the photo you should have taken!
  • Vista-generation Origamis, Tablet PCs, Laptops, Computers, Media Centers. New features, new designs.
  • Windows Home Server – the audio and video of the webcast were suspended at this point, so there’s not much I can say… Features: Automated backup, local connectivity (local computers, X-box…), remote connectivity (through the internet), easy expansion of available space. Seems to have been some internal HP demo.
  • IPTV on the X-box 360
