XAML Assembly Reference Problem?

February 26th, 2006 by Joseph Bittman MCSD .Net

Well, I just installed the 5308 build, Orcas Feb CTP, and Windows SDK Feb CTP. I then went to create a new WinFX project in Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite, and guess what? I get a load of errors right away saying that “Type X cannot be found. Are you missing an assembly reference?” – There isn’t a workaround for this, but it should  still compile and run your application fine (although you can’t use the Designer). But does it run fine or does nothing display? – If it compiles and enters debug mode but nothing displays on the screen, then here is the workaround I found… (although this problem doesn’t always occur even if you don’t follow the workaround). Just visit my blog for my observations: http://cactidevelopers.resdev.net/.
