Hi folks,
please also take me in information flow. At my site it seems to be, that this error maybe produced whenever the search is going to a netbios (DFS) name.

I can confirm that the proposed workaround (add the Authenticated Users do the Users group in the PDC emulator) works.

We are seeing this on the lone W2K3 R2 server we have–it’s on an NT4 domain (actually SBS 4.0a)

I’ve get this error after adding an W2K3 R2 server to an existing W2K3 domain. The schema in the existing domain was updated using the command “AdPrep /forestprep” (with the R2 version AdPrep) before adding the new server.

I don’t want to use the reg fix proposed here as there’s not details of what effects or side effects it will have.

Please notify me when a hotfix or KB article is released.

Hi! Could someone please try the solution mentioned above and tell me if it works?

(On the PDC emulator add “authenticated users” to “users” (net localgroup users “authenticated users” /add).
On the file server stop and restart the FSRM services (net stop srmreports, net stop srmsvc, net start srmsvc, net start srmreports).)

It was the resultof another case with Microsoct concerning the same issue. How the group “users” was removed from “authenticated users” is still not clear – MIcrosoft has the opinion that this must have happened intentionally.

This solved our problem:

On the PDC emulator add “authenticated users” to “users” (net localgroup users “authenticated users” /add).
